The Toronto Affordable Housing Challenge called for innovative, creative and flexible design proposals for tackling Toronto's affordable housing crisis. The 3 winners are: 1st prize: @samanthaeby and @tristanvanleur Cooperative Corners is a design based on a collective self-funding housing model inserted into existing corner plots in Toronto neighbourhoods. 2nd prize: Giovanni Fruttaldo, Kimberly Carlisle, Noah Lemus A design scheme, called Laneway Housing, using a system of building components to address the needs of a multigenerational community. 3rd prize: Ana Luisa Rolim, Isabella Trindale, Beatriz Beuno, Larissa Falavigna LaneWAY of Living proposes a form of incremental housing in supporting a greener, denser Toronto.
