As part of the official programme of OPEN DESIGN, on 24 August Future Cape Town will be hosting OPEN CITY: a half-day mini-conference to share projects, ideas and inspiration that will make Cape Town and other cities more open and accessible. This event will be free of charge.
OPEN CITY is the follow up from our first mini-conference entitled BOLD CITY, which was hosted at the Cape Town International Convention Centre and presented 8 bold ideas for Cape Town. These ideas ranged from moving the harbour, to new ways of feeding the city. This event hosted close to 100 attendees who engaged around various urban projects and ideas- both during and after the conference.Through social media, we reached over 150 000, and trended in Cape Town and South Africa.
In our efforts to keep this event free of charge, and open to the public, we are calling on sponsors and partners (individuals or organisations) to support in the following possible ways:
Sponsoring coffee, breakfast, lunch, or other food for the delegates
Contributing towards the organisation of the event
Formalising an event partnership for future mini-conferences e.g. premier sponsor
We are open to discussing how we could collaborate in this event and future events, as well as co-branding where suitable.
