Extensive redevelopment of Eden Park has taken place to transform the into one suitable for the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
The redevelopment will increase the capacity of the current stadium from 45,000 to 60,000 people and involves construction of a new permanent South Stand, temporary seating on East and West Stands, new corporate boxes, and media and player facilities.
