While Istanbul can be inspired by Cape Town’s eye for clean and futuristic design, the mothers of our city can certainly listen to how Turkish authorities seem to have criss-crossed redtape to make public transport effortless for the commuter. A single ticket (or token in their case) gets you onto a train, tram, ferry or venicular to connect citizens and tourists alike to almost every piece of this magical city. More people on the streets, hopping on and off all forms of public transport (and less in their cars), mean more energy in the busy streets – making tourists feel part of the secret.
