In conjunction with our Rio+20 coverage, Future Cape Town looks at the progress of stadia under construction in Brazil in anticipation of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Our first report comes from the state capital of Belo Horizonte:
Belo Horizonte: 58% complete
Slated to host six World Cup matches, including one of the semi-finals and the first qualifying match of the Brazilian team in the tournament, construction of this stadium is expected to be completed in December 2012. To date, 47% of the lower grandstand has been completed, and 90% of the pre-molded parts have been installed on the terrace.
