Applications for 2015 now open

(Future Cape Town, Future Lagos and Future London only. The process for Future Johannesburg to be announced.)

With 2014 almost behind us (how did that happen?) the internship application process for 2015 is now open.

This year, more so than ever, we have been forced to stretch our capacity and imagination. We are very proud of our role in co-creating the project, Department of Design, a major highlight for us this year.

Through the power of social media we have amplified our voice to reach over 50,000 social media followers with our #CityTalk tweetchats with This Big City now at over 30. We have once again surpassed the 100,000 visitor mark at our website with improvements and changes to the look and content already on the cards. Our 15 part podcast series Metropolist exposed us to a new medium, while our design walking tours encouraged more people to see the city with new eyes.

We have been proud to share our work and views with local and international media, like Monocle, Icon Magazine and others, as well as at exhibitions from City Hall to Orleans in France. As important, is our role to stimulate debate and we have done so through events like the Design Africa Symposium, Design, Cities and the World Cup , the Density Syndicate and through our regular engagement with citizens and the media.

With new projects like our Young Urbanists community, and a few new collaborations (perhaps a publication?) on the cards, 2015 will need all the team-power possible.

While we catch our breath, and thank our team in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Lagos and London, we are looking for energetic and reliable people to help us take our organisation even further. Interns have the opportunity to report, research and engage with some of the leading projects, people and discussions impacting the future of cities, in addition to supporting our daily operations and programme activities.
