The London Evolution Animation (LEA) explores the development of London since its earliest roots. Focusing on road networks and preserved buildings, the LEA brings together geo-referenced road network data to show how London has evolved since Roman times, and visualises statutorily protected buildings and structures built in each period since then.

A partnership project between English Heritage, Museum of London Archaeology and Dr. Kiril Stanilow (The Centre for Smart Infrastructure and Construction), the animation was originally created for the Almost Lost exhibition. The LEA was developed over 9 months by the Bartlett Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis and was initiated and directed by Polly Hudson.
