WATCH : A time-lapse of the wednesday market at the Grand Parade

Grand Parade – Wednesday Market Timelapse from Gareth Pearson on Vimeo.

The Grand Parade is one of the oldest public spaces in South Africa. Located next to Cape Town Station, it’s a major thoroughfare for pedestrians arriving and departing the city centre. This is a simple timelapse of the weekly Wednesday market as part of a greater observational project to better understand the use of the space. It was shot between 5.30am and 4.30pm.
