This October a number of changes will take place with Cape Town’s MyCiTi BRT system. The Adderley Street station will be opening and will connect the new BRT system with the very important suburban rail network at Cape Town Station. A number of other changes to routes will also be made. Here we recap 5 changes coming from October 2014.
Cape Town’s MyCiTi system now connects Table Mountain to the rest of the MyCiTi system.
On 5 July 2014, the City of Cape Town started the N2 Express Service to Khayelitsha and Mitchell’s Plain to ‘top-up’ public transport to these areas.
From 5 July 2014 the MyCiTi services will reach residents of Khayelitsha and Mitchell’s Plain. The official routes with stops have been made available. Have a look if you will live near a stop!
A low-cost fire detection device, designed in Cape Town, and specifically targeting shacks and townships has won the People’s Choice Award at the Global Social Venture 2014 Competition.
Cape Town is aiming to launch the N2 Express service to Mitchell’s Plain on 5 July 2014. A new colour-coded wayfinding signage system was also launched to help commuters.

This weekend, on 12 April 2014, the Cape Town Bus Rapid Transit system, MyCiTi, will be expanding to Atlantis.
