What is Our Future Cities?

Our Future Cities NPO is an independent nonprofit organisation working to build a democracy around the future of cities. Our network is made up of Future Cape Town, which is the founding movement and our base, along with Future Johannesburg, Future Lagos and Future London.

We believe in connecting people, to the ideas, decisions, processes and people who shape our cities.

We achieve our aim by: creating platforms for dialogue and action, inspiring people to become active citizens, promoting city to citizen engagement, empowering young people in the area of urbanism, advocating for more liveable, inclusive and sustainable cities and partnering and collaborating with like-minded people and organisations.

What does the role entail?

Working on all events that are part of Department of Design.

To ensure the smooth running of the planning and implementation of the overall programme of events inside Department of Design,  in close coordination with the Event and Exhibition Manager, and the Head of the Local Organising Committee

  1. To assist with the planning and programming of events

  2. To welcome and receive external event organisers, and oversee the running of the programme with all stakeholders

  3. Co-monitoring of supplies across the location

  4. C0-managing interns supporting the operation of the event and building

Remuneration: Based on experience.
