80:20 Inclusionary Housing Model
FORTY ON L, a pilot project in the Bo Kaap, is attempting to incorporate a new Inclusionary Housing Model, known as the 80:20 Model, the first of its kind in the Cape Town CBD. The project aims to add 11 more affordable apartments for first-time buyers to an existing open market development, which is unprecedented in Cape Town, and they will be sold at 30-50% less than the market value.
A short video explain how this 80:20 Inclusionary Model works.

A plan has been submitted to council to include these homes and integrate them into our FORTY ON L development, and the project is now open for comment. Your letter of support will ensure that the City moves forward with an actual live pilot project that will, in turn, help drive new inclusionary housing policies going forward and address our city’s real need for more affordable well-located housing.
