On Friday 17 May, curious onlookers and pedestrians were drawn to a bright yellow modular box structure in the centre of Church Square in the Cape Town CBD. The structure known as the Your City Idea Project is a ballot box installation that was created to breakaway from the traditional techniques of gathering information from the public while at the same time facilitating meaningful public engagement on social and urban issues.
After another satisfactory run at Cape Town International Airport, the bright yellow ballot box will return to the CBD area where citizens can come and take a minute or two of their time to vote on two urban issues. On Friday 17 May, members of the public can make their way to Church Square ,situated at Spin Street and Parliament Street between 9am and 3pm .
Citizens of Cape Town will have another opportunity to make their vote count on public spaces in their city. The Your City Idea Installation will make its way to Cape Town International Airport on the 2nd of April between 9 am until 4 pm.
